Dust

what of dust, of fortune telling,
of lightning coming too soon?
what will I become, I wondered,
whispering to the moon

she told me I already know,
I know from where I came,
the rest is right in front of me,
try dusting off my name

  1. I always love hearing how the writer hears their own work – where they pause, stress etc. It adds an extra element to the piece and compliments the whole. nice!

    • I was thinking about the saying, ‘dust to dust’, and how we begin and end as such. Except, sometimes we allow dust to collect in between, and don’t always feel like we know how to blow it away. Thank you so much, Grace. πŸ’œ

  2. Very nice. I liked these three lines the best: “she told me I already know,
I know from where I came,
the rest is right in front of me”

Also the SoundCloud performances were well done.
