Blush, A Quadrille

it’s crazy how I’m caught off-guard,
after all these years

how tearing down walls
left my smallness in the open

how your hungry looks,
whispery words,
tracing fingers,
make me blush,
squirm,
want

it’s crazy how being off-guard
feels so at home,
with you

  1. I completely forgot this was a prompt, I so connected to this poem. It’s my favorite of the quadrilles tonight and is completely how I feel about my husband. 🙂 This is how you know you got a good one … they still make you feel weak and fluttery and like their little girl.

    • I’m so happy it resonated with you! And thank you, I’m humbled. I agree! I think especially in a long time love, retaining that and nurturing that safety and vulnerability is foundational! 💜

  2. Woo, Woo, Woo!!! Loved this post. Especially the lines – “how your hungry looks, whispery words, tracing fingers, make me blush, squirm, want”. You have a Gift! You need to put this “Heat” into one of those Steamy novels!

    • Thank you! I’m so happy you enjoyed it. I’m not sure I’m cut out for a novel, but I enjoy writing shorts, vignettes, and flashes. There are some on the blog if that’s an interest.

It is, and I agree! I have visited and followed! Outstanding creativity, word play, and sense of humor. I’ll be back to read more!

      • No, no series of Quadrille of the erotic nature. It was actually a longer poem I wrote some time ago, but shortened it to 44 words to try and participate in the prompt at dVerse. The original is in there amongst the poetry. There are many other erotic poems to see too. There’s a menu choice at the top of the page if you’re interested.
